Vet Travel Docs supports an A$25 check for one personally owned dog or cat flying directly from Great Britain or any EU Member State to Australia.
Quarantine is required
Plan for a minimum 30 days at the Mickleham post-entry quarantine facility. This may reduce to a minimum 10 days only where the required official identity verification was completed before the rabies antibody titre test—or the returning-Australian-origin condition applies—and every other permit condition is satisfied. The issued Australian import permit sets the final period, and non-compliance can extend it.
What the check covers
- the Group 3 approved-country and 180-day preparation pathway;
- ISO-readable microchip and official identity-verification timing;
- rabies vaccination and RNATT chronology;
- the biosecurity import permit and country-specific health certificate;
- government endorsement and supporting laboratory or vaccination records; and
- clear quarantine, carrier, transit and outstanding-action findings.
Allow at least six months for preparation. Vet Travel Docs does not obtain the import permit, book quarantine, issue the official certificate or decide the final quarantine period.
Non-commercial boundary
This check excludes sale, adoption, rehoming, breeding-stock transfer and every other commercial movement.
